With all the rights and privileges pertaining thereto: Examination and Desk Copies

My favorite thing about teaching is the act itself - the wonderful, terrible, frightening, joyful conglomeration of performance, conversation, interpretative dance, experiment -- the sheer energy that can crackle through the classroom and set everyone on fire.

My favorite privilege that attaches to the privilege of doing something I love for a living and spending time with remarkable students and wonderful colleagues is the ability to write to publishers and request desk copies and examination copies. The following titles recently traveled to my shelves:

I'll be teaching them in the graphic novels course, along with ElfQuest and Rat Queens.
Titles that are still under consideration include: Rurouni Kenshin, Zot, Blankets, and Sandman. I request examination copies of Beasts of Burden: Animal Rites, Pride of Baghdad,We3, and Blacksad, but, in perfect honest I doubt they'll make the list because the current pile is so hefty.

I'll review these newest additions as I get to them!
